Dr. Osbert Cheung is the founder and president of SBM Solar Inc.  He spent years to developing a non-glass solar panel with crystalline silicon (c-Si) cells that is rigid and lightweight.

The SBM's non-glass PV module received a UL certification on Jan. 2010. SBM's panel is the first module of this type to be certified by UL, but is also the first panel using the Dow Chemical's thermoplastic encapsulant that is certified by UL.

Dr. Osbert Cheung has worked as a consultant with various companies. His specialty is to work with various polymeric films with the lamination process. His broad knowledge of combining the lamination process with new types of plastic materials enables him the ability of working with chemical and plastic companies worldwide.

Dr. Osbert Cheung graduated from the University of Sacramento, California and  he obtained his chemistry Ph.D. degree at Temple University, Philadelphia.
